The Manitoba Division of the Duke of Edinburgh Award reports that the Department of Education of the Province of Manitoba has confirmed that projects proposed as part of The D of E program may be eligible for credit toward graduation as part of the optional credits requirement.

Up to three credits can be obtained for Student Initiated Projects (SIP) that are developed by the student and submitted through the student's school to Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth for approval and registration, and up to one additional credit can be obtained as a Community Service SIP (required school approval).

In order to receive these credits students must follow the guidelines for submitting a SIP proposal for approval and registration of the project with Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth.
